💍 Zendaya and Tom Holland are somehow even more private than we predicted.

Remember back in January when we joked we’d probably find out they got married six months after it happened?

…Apparently we weren’t far off.

Tom all but confirmed they’re married while promoting Spider-Man, which honestly feels incredibly on-brand for the two people who seem to exist in their own little world. At this point I’m convinced we’ll get one blurry Polaroid from their wedding sometime around 2042.

Kind of refreshing in a world where everything is announced immediately.

There’s the corporate job. The creative project. The Etsy shop. The Substack. The photography business. The consulting clients. The rental property. The TikTok account. The thing you work on after work.

A few years ago we called it a “side hustle.”

Now it almost feels like…life.

And honestly? I have mixed feelings about it.

Part of me thinks it’s a little ridiculous that it feels normal to have a full-time job and another source of income just to feel financially secure. Between inflation, layoffs, AI, and the general unpredictability of work lately, having one paycheck doesn’t always feel like enough anymore. More and more people are talking about building “portfolio careers”—multiple streams of work instead of putting all of your eggs in one employer’s basket. It’s becoming less about chasing hustle culture and more about building flexibility and resilience in an uncertain job market.  

But here’s the part I don’t think gets talked about enough…

Not every second thing has to exist to make you rich.

I genuinely like my corporate job. I like solving problems. I like marketing. I like the people I work with.

But I also love finding a great restaurant. Putting together outfits. Writing this newsletter. Making videos that make someone laugh or save a recommendation for later.

Maybe one day it’ll become a much bigger business.

Maybe it won’t.

Either way, it’s already given me something I didn’t realize I was missing—a creative outlet that reminds me there’s more than one version of success.

So maybe the goal isn’t to monetize every hobby.

Maybe it’s simply to have something that makes you excited to open your laptop after work.

And if it eventually pays for a vacation…well…I’m certainly not going to complain.

I don’t make the rules.

I just see a cute yellow piece and suddenly I’m checking out.

If you’re looking for great Korean BBQ in Southern California, Thirsty Cow is one of my favorites.

One thing I especially love is that you can join the waitlist online before you even leave the house (which honestly should be mandatory for every popular restaurant). If you do end up waiting, there’s also a little bar inside where you can grab a drink while your table is getting ready.

The quality of the meat is fantastic, the banchan keeps coming, and it’s one of those places where you accidentally stay for two hours because you’re too busy saying, “Okay…one more round.”

If you leave hungry that’s genuinely your own fault.

If you loved Fob Kitchen, you’ll definitely want to add Fob West to your list. Chef Janice Dulce brings Filipino flavors inspired by her upbringing in Guam, making this a casual spot that’s perfect for sharing a few dishes with friends while trying something a little different.

The giant Raviolo Uovo is reason enough to make the trip, especially once you learn it’s the very same dish made famous at Seven Hills. Chef Alexander brought one of San Francisco’s most iconic pasta dishes to Marin, and it’s every bit as good as I’d hoped.

One of my favorite spots when I’m craving sushi. Saru focuses on seasonal fish prepared in the traditional Edomae style with a modern touch, making every visit feel just a little different depending on what’s freshest.

Tucked near Washington Square Park, Claude feels like the kind of café you accidentally become a regular at. Order the latte or matcha with the housemade honeycomb toffee and thank me later.

A charming West Village French tavern that’s perfect for showing visitors—or pretending you’re one yourself. Come hungry for brunch and stay a little longer than planned.

If you’re someone who always orders dessert, this carrot cake deserves a spot on your list. Light, fluffy, not overly sweet, and topped with a whipped frosting that’s somehow even better than the cake itself.

An easy lunch spot that’s quickly becoming one of my LA favorites. Grab one of the sandwiches and don’t skip the matcha freeze—it might honestly be my favorite thing on the menu.

If you’re looking for spicy vodka pasta in LA, this one’s definitely worth adding to the rotation. Great for a girls’ dinner that somehow turns into staying for “just one more drink.”
